Base Pay: $21.50 an hour

    The Manufacturing Technician – Reclassifer is responsible for analyzing each cured tire that does not meet the Company finished product standards to determine the disposition for the tires (first line, blemish, repair, or scrap). The ideal candidate requires comprehensive knowledge of all General Specifications to apply to cured tires and always stay up to date on CST/Blemish policies. In this role, you must be vigilant and alert the Production and/or Quality departments when serious conditions are found that may have been missed by production inspectors so that the suspect tires can be restricted in a timely manner (this included tires rejected in error and tires where defect not marked).

  • Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Dependable job attendance is expected.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be knowledgeable of capabilities of repair department and know tire constructions to decide whether a tire will perform on the highway

  • Must be thoroughly familiar with FMVSS-109 and 119 standards regarding performance, labeling, branding, and serials and stamping

  • Must know the Atlas and Autobacs specifications and be able to apply accordingly

  • Initiates Quality Alerts in a timely manner to prompt corrective action on repeating condition codes

  • Assists with the Over Inspection process and assures we meet the minimum requirements established for the Exhibit C inspection procedures

  • Updates Conditions Board for Inspectors at beginning of each shift

  • Stamps all repaired tires and re-inspects

  • Performs the cutting of CTA tires for our product sampling requirements

  • Inspects, brands, paints and input data from all WSW buffer repairs

  • Inputs data from all out-of-balance and uniformity tires and processes

  • Completes appropriate forms for downgrading, repair, etc. of the cured tires

  • Responsible for updating and maintaining Focus Lane Specs

  • Performs 6S Audits of assigned work area and maintains organization and cleanliness of Reclass Workstation

    Shift Information : 12-hr shift (potential for days or nights)

  • 2-2-3 continuous work schedule (This scheduling allows for some natural overtime and gives a three-day weekend every other week)

    Work Environment: Texarkana, AR Plant

  • The job is within a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the factory.

  • The environmental conditions can be hot, cold, and noisy.

  • Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or the Workforce Center's Career Readiness Certification (CRC) with a minimum of Silver Certificate level

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future 

  • Required to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend, and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations

  • Technical Associates Degree or 6 months of equivalent work experience
