General Description:

The apprenticeship position may require standing and walking on a hard surface, working in fluctuating temperatures and industrial environments, doing physically demanding work, working at heights of 10 feet or greater, and entering confined spaces. Team and individual project work. Satisfactory completion of a probationary period and following established safety policies.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to

  • Would be assigned a mentor(s) who would work closely with you and guide you in applying the skills and theories learned in the classroom to real projects that Goodyear Tire is currently working on such as the following: Understand and interpret drawings that support the manufacturing of parts made at Tall Timbers

  • Understand the methods of Handfinishing needed for parts that come off our Machining Centers

  • Understand safety and operation of all machining centers

  • Ability to read gages and measurement tools to support accurate quality checks

  • Some exposure to welding technologies

  • Abide by safe work standards

  • Adhere to Goodyear's attendance policy

  • Perform a variety of manual tasks which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable

  • Other general responsibilities:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma/GED achieved by the start date of June 1, 2024

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of June 1, 2024

  • Student shall enroll in and successfully complete a 2-year College Program beginning in the fall of 2024 and concluding in the spring of 2026 (five semesters). Student shall be continuously enrolled in the Program during this time.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future

  • Required to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations

  • Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment contingencies

  • Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable
