Primary Purpose of Position:

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Support – Provides technical support for the accurate risk assessment of plant processes and the safe handling of raw materials. Identifies/pursues actions that reduce plant environmental footprint

  • Plant Technical Support - Routinely interface with chemical plant technical operations/maintenance teams to stay informed of current operational issues. Provide troubleshooting to address process and equipment concerns.

  • New Product and Process Support - Participate in R&D project meetings to provide plant input during the development process to ensure any potential scale-up items are addressed. Conduit for transfer of the technology from R&D to the plants. Will work closely with R&D and plant technical/operations to ensure the technology is transferred safely and efficiently.

  • Process Improvements - Work with the plant technical and operations/maintenance to identify process improvement opportunities. Work with plant resources to develop the improvement project scope for financial analysis. Assist in implementation of the improvement.

  • Licensing Support - Will support the development of new licensing opportunities. Work with Goodyear engineering firm on the development of the process design package. Work with client and client's engineering firms through detailed engineering, procurement and construction. Provide plant start-up assistance.

Education :

  • BS in Engineering (Chemical preferred)

Experience:

  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary technical associates to achieve cost effective goals.

  • Project management experience is desired.

Skills:

  • Ability to lead/influence without direct authority.

  • Embraces collaboration and teamwork in achieving business goals/objectives.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and other continuous improvement tools
