About the Position

Position is responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and repair of proving grounds test and data acquisition equipment.

The work will vary from day to day and may include, but not limited to: the routine calibration and documentation of test equipment in compliance with applicable ISO / EC / ASTM standards; trouble shooting and repair of equipment prior to calibration; assembling, reworking, installing, and servicing of electronic, electrical, and mechanical calibration components and systems. This individual is required to determine cause of technical problems and propose and execute problem resolutions. Troubleshooting may include the use of prints or technical manuals as well as critical thinking and the input of other experts. This individual may be required to propose or execute equipment or process modifications to remain compliant, propose and execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and execute approved system or equipment upgrades.

Location: Goodyear San Angelo Proving Grounds 11570 N US HWY 277 San Angelo, Texas 76905 This is an on-site role with 5 days per week in the office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations in compliance with applicable ISO-16949, ATF, ISO 17025, INMETRO, and other relevant standards.

  • Update appropriate database records, labels, and related documentation.

  • Participate as necessary in both internal and external audits.

  • Equipment maintenance and repair – execute work to address unexpected system impairment or damage.

  • Examples include but are not limited to repair of out-of-calibration test equipment, test equipment problem troubleshooting and repair, data acquisition system troubleshooting and repair, building systems repair, etc.

  • Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and other Company policies and procedures.

  • Follow all safety rules and practices.

  • May be involved in Safety committees or initiatives.

  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned.

  • Must exhibit a professional, neat, and clean appearance and be customer service oriented.

Required Education and Experience

  • HS diploma or equivalent and 4+ yrs calibration or electronics repair experience OR associate degree and 1+ yrs of calibration or electronics repair experience.

  • Experience with ISO processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Knowledge and experience with the repair of electronic systems.

  • Experience reading and understanding written instructions, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Knowledge and experience with data acquisition systems and tire testing equipment preferred.

  • Demonstrated adherence to proper safety procedures.

Skills and Abilities

  • Work well on a team or independently with close attention to detail.

  • Exhibit strong organizational skills.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Exhibit solid customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic office computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Valid driver’s license.
